Our Story

Caxton’s as we are known locally has been a family owned business and independent retailer established for over forty years. The shop is situated on the River Avon in Fordingbridge in Hampshire near the New Forest. 

Caxton Decor was established over forty years ago by Malcolm and Joyce Adams in the bustling town on the edge of the New Forest and later they added a soft furnishings dept in an upstairs showroom and established Caxton Interiors. Now run by Malcolm and his daughter Jackie we are a family business that prides itself as a modern stores with an old fashioned style of service. The staff are friendly, helpful and informative and will go out of their way to serve their customers in a practical and professional way.

Our Shop

We pride ourselves in giving an old fashioned style of friendly, helpful service and our staff are able to offer useful advice and guidance. However our shop is stocked with a comprehensive range of all your DIY, hardware, household and cookware requirements that is constantly evolving to move with the times and the seasons. Our seasonal departments reflect the different items you may need for that time of year, heaters and fireside in the winter, fans and pool chemicals in the summer. In addition we cut glass to your required sizes, offer a wide selection of timber and moulding's, electrical fittings, plumbing and ironmongery. We like to think of our shop as unique, our customers regularly refer to us as a local Aladdin's cave.

Much of our kitchenware is very popular as gift items and we also stock watches and other lines suitable for that special someone. At Christmas we expand this range to suit the season plus offering the Real Deals range of gift ideas

TRADE PAINTS MIXED 

As well as being a Dulux Trade Centre we sell the ever popular, The Little Green Paint Company and Paint and Paper Library paints, mixed while you wait or ordered in advance.

As well as all the seasonal gardening requirements,  seeds, fertiliser and pest control, we offer all the tools you will need to tend your garden. Hose reels and fittings, bean sticks, wire mesh, grass seed.
